People often ask me how I came up with the name “F.A.T’s” for my plumbing business (since those who know me know that I am anything BUT fat!).

It’s simple, really.

It’s the first initial of each person’s name in my family, at least when the business was founded. My kids are long since grown and on their own now, and their mother is no longer my wife. But I have kept the name anyway.

My name is Tony Mumblow. I have been living and working the Columbia SC area as a Master water and gas plumber for about 30 years. I have worked in other states and other times as well, but I moved to Columbia years ago and stayed.

That means I am intimately familiar with the types of homes, neighborhoods, and plumbing issues that arise in this area.

I am required by law to take a refresher course in building codes and plumbing requirements to maintain my licensed status, and I take this very seriously. I don’t take shortcuts on projects just to save a buck. Safety and security are the most important issues.

I work alone, or occasionally with a helper, so I don’t have the massive overhead that the larger plumbing companies have. When you call for service, you get me, the Master plumber, and not a plumbing technician in training or one that is not yet licensed.

I like people and I love houses. Solving plumbing difficulties is my forte and many of my solutions are quite elegant, if I do say so myself!

I warranty all of my work and stand behind my efforts. You can always count on me to do right by you.
